A Smovish/ LYP video made by Chick-fil-A to remind their team to be compassionate (their customers may have things going on in their lives). Warning: You may get teary-eyed.
It reminds me of a wonderful commencement speech by David Foster Wallace given in 2005 (complete read is about 15-minutes – it’s one of the most inspiring things I’ve ever read). In it he said…
"The freedom to be lords of our own tiny skull-sized kingdoms, alone at the center of all creation. This kind of freedom has much to recommend it. But of course there are all different kinds of freedom, and the kind that is most precious you will not hear much talked about in the great outside world of winning and achieving and displaying. The really important kind of freedom involves attention, and awareness, and discipline, and effort, and being able truly to care about other people and to sacrifice for them, over and over, in myriad petty little unsexy ways, every day. That is real freedom. The alternative is unconsciousness, the default-setting, the "rat race" — the constant gnawing sense of having had and lost some infinite thing."

WHy have I never been able to see your videos? It is so annoying
Well-produced video and a reat message, but ironic that it comes from Chick-fil-A. This is not a company that should stand as a corporate model for compassion. While they might claim to care for their customers, they also openly discriminate against the gay and lesbian community through their corporate donations to anti-gay organizations. That’s not smoove.

What a great video, and it speaks volumes about Chick-fil-A. It seems so simple, that if an organization values people that it will translate into business, but many companies totally miss this. Thanks for sharing!
Very real. very humbling. so often we have hidden comments about those we work with. This video shows the type of compassion that is available to us if we stop and put others up there with ourselves
This was great and thought provoking. Who have we dismissed with a “What’s wrong with him?”
Very humbling! Life is not about us however those around us. A recent theme I heard over the last year is “It was never about him it was always about us”. We need to realize, understand this and practice it. Thanks to the all those out there that make a difference! Happy New Year everyone!
There’s so much power out there if we’d just open our hearts to feel what our eyes see and ears hear every second.
OK – made me cry. It’s such a simple thing but so powerful. I would argue that we don’t even have to KNOW someone’s story – just that they have one – and you never know what someone is going through. So be kind.
What a wonderful way to show the various stories of those around us each day! Kudos to Chick-fil-A for their continued efforts in making a positive impact on others by their exceptional employee training, service and support in individual communities! Your Story Matters!
